Got some great news today My sweet daughter got a scholarship I was at work when I got the news Thank goodness it's allergy season I could explain my weepy eyes Tears of joy...Tears of pain I used to think all tears Were shed in anguish Of a life lived in vain Over the years I've learned Tears are the release Of powerful emotions I just feel them more frequently Most brag at pride Most gaze past people's pain Most are afraid of raw emotion So I let the tears flow Assured there's nothing wrong With feeling and showing emotion I am not cursed I feel I am blessed Well at least most of the time...... |
