Poem: She says I am easily distracted...By the flight of ideas...The sound of humming birds...Wings beating faster than the eye can see...Yes, at times definitely..

She talks at me constantly...Talks at me constantly...About taking walks...Going to a gym... Quitting smoking...None I have done yet...Those decisions are up to me...

We walk around malls...She dreams about everything she sees...She likes photography...I see a help wanted sign...In the window of a portrait studio...When I tell her about it...She says it does not pay enough...

I begin to see...She’s easily distracted...By the flight of plans and schemes...Get rich attraction pipe dreams...Sweetheart, dreams start at the bottom...Before they come true...

Lost on the New Jersey Turnpike...Talking to me on the phone...Screaming and cursing at her Mom...What the hell did Mom do wrong...

At her parent’s house for dinner...Yelling and cursing at Mom...Concern expressed wrong...Dad said she's on a roll tonight...Please just let Mom be and love her...
With a gentle touch...

It was at that moment
I couldn’t wait to leave

It was at that moment...I realized there was no room for compromise...No matter how hard I would try...I'd always fall short in her eyes...Kind words too far in between...I'd end up like Mom...Her cursing and screaming at me...Good-bye to the fantasy of a you and me......
