As I lay here on the floor lifeless and sore I cannot stop the pain. My mind yells out but my mouth lets out only a small cry! When does the hurting stop? Make it go away. The animal inside me burrows out all the respect and security and threatens to take my pride. But nothing takes my pride away, Not even this thing inside! I'll try to hold my head high and try to forget... Forget how my confidence has deteriorated and how my head hangs low too heavy with guilt to pick up. Forget my name too ashamed to remember. Who am I?... |
