Poem: I can put up with the pain that a severe mental illness gives me every waking moment of the day.

I can put up with living my life for now in a psychiatric hospital.

I can put up with being estranged from my family and friends.

I can put up with having psychotic episodes and the resultant turmoil that they have created in my life.

I can put up with the never-ending round of doctors, nurses, hospitals and therapy.

But I cannot put up without a smoke....
