I know that sound, everyone does. That sound that is made when something falls from a great height then suddenly stops. It is a sound like no other. It stops you in your tracks and you cringe. You hold your breath hoping for the best but expecting the worst. It is the same sound when two things travelling at great speed come together. This is the sound of crash, it is a warning sound that something terribly wrong has occurred. Where was that sound for me? When I fell from way up there to rock bottom? The silence I heard was deafening. Where was my warning sound? How can you tell when you fall when you don’t hear the crash! I can’t hold my breath and hope for the best when I didn’t hear the crash. Suddenly I am deep in “the worst”. How unfair that I have the crash without the sound. I know that sound, everybody does.... |
