Poem: My grandchildren are staying the night.
Their perfect small bodies
Splayed across navy sheets.
The symmetry of total repose.

Beauty unmoving and tranquil,
Gently breathing,
Satin brown skin
Children of my children,
Minds bright as sunlight by day,
At night, a stir and a sigh.

The sleeping child is perfection.
I remember my daughter, my son.
This is his son,
Her son.

I am old but not in vain....
