Title: Perpetuity
Author: Phoebe
Date Submitted: 10/15/2006

Poem: I should not squander my existence
On some one who is drowning at their own insistence
But I’ll live day to day always questioning
Thinking about life while I’ll be wandering

The only joy I have as of yet
Is the ability God gave me to forgive not forget
There is a path I want to travail
Unless the evil and discontent that of mind prevail

Then I will listen to watches tick
Sit and stare at the computer; point then click
Simplest pleasure that gets me far away
Leads me not into temptation will not lead me astray

It's not so bad today, my life that is
Even if I'm not a genius, really bright or a whiz
I will live and enjoy it until the end of my days
Unless of course the piper pays

Always up to me though to sink or swim
Best I can do now is to hum a favorite hymn
Just keep moving don't stop; its my abilty
To keep my life with constant perpetuity
