Title: Insistence
Author: david evans

Poem: The clamor of hearts and wringing of hands
The blistering summer of distant lands
Beckon so softly to follow the sound
Of harrowing voices who always abound

On bent knees and elbows I beg for the truth
The bruising of souls and bleeding of youth
The cries that pierce the dark shining light
The actions of those whose voices are trite

These are the things that lead me to listen
To give my heart heed in rain as it glistens
For those who suffer I give my heart purely
For those who have not I understand poorly

I wander aimlessly throughout this existence
Falling down slowly to accept its insistence
