Title: manic maniac
Author: Deb
Date Submitted: 5/28/2006

Poem: she wakes feeling elevated but doesn’t know why
she can’t do her chores but she can touch the sky
ideas come to her head, ideas she has to try
her head spins out of control
so she begins to cry

she's spent her money on things she didn't really need
it happens so often but she has her children to feed
she can't concentrate enough to watch tv or read
she feels hopeless as her brain begins to speed

she decides to clean out the kitchen shelves
the more she keeps going the further in she delves
now there's a huge mess and she’s not manic anymore
what's she supposed to do with half the kitchen on the floor?

she’s on a rollercoaster and there’s no one to slow it down
she’s spiralling out of control and there’s no help around
why is she one of the chosen few to get a ticket for this ride?
no one understands about these ups and downs so she's lied

so many times she’s made friends and then they've turned their back
she might as well just face the fact that she’s just a...
MANIC MANIAC!
