Title: For a Friend
Author: Mrs.
Date Submitted: 4/30/2013

Poem: Sitting quietly in the corner, head down and timid.
Sweet, beautiful young lady blinded by self-doubt;
Love, hope, and happiness she so desires.
He walks the room, head up and boisterous.
Fake, loud, little man blinded by insecurity.
Like a lion stalking his prey,
poising to attack the weak.
"You''re beautiful" he recites
bringing light to her darkness.
Lies and deception cover truths soon to be revealed.
For love is truly blind.
"You''re stupid" he recites, kicking her while she''s down
Alcohol, abuse, and hatred fill their home.
I''m sorry''s and make-up sex;
Then Back to Reality...
Sitting quietly in the corner, head down and timid.
A sweet beautiful lady, blinded by abuse.
Love hope and happiness she so desires....
