Like a polar bear in an avalanche. This ice-pack gusting down my back; A whale brick of burden. My legs caught in tar. These curtains block the light; Blue curtains hanging like the sky. The sky is so free. A tree is a god: Living but dead. These curtains should be tied with a rope, A rope as black as its value. Even the simple become the duty. Life grows without me; She lifts one leg, then the other. My being is eaten. These curtains are vultures. I am a wound-up broken clock.... |
