Author: Mello
Date Submitted: 12/8/2011

Poem: Cracks widen, digging deeper at my flesh.
Opening pink ridges to soaring canyons,
my lips fall still to the opening

boiling bubbling bewilderment at the ripe energy
frying within the corner of my blue-eyed sea
waving goodbye to clarity

Blood swells, surfacing and departing in puddles
down rounded pinkingly oranged skin.

my bloody procession swims to an endless drip.
Tears swell, drying every swallowed breath.

A heartbeat displaces my cut and I desperately fall
to my bed’s comfort,
still breathing.

Angry with the arrival of morning....
