Looking out from the dark shadows into the light People together in fun and in flight Wondering if any is alone like me Alone in the dark where it’s hard to see I wonder if they ever feel so down To run in front of a bus or maybe drown No fuss, no letters, just get it done Let the rest of the world get on with its fun People find it easy to be around Those that smile and joke and clown But it’s very hard to be on ones side When they are dark and down and worse besides. Just one day I would like to wake Feeling good and bright and ready to take On the world and all its treacherous ways Like others do in most of their days I hope one day to see the light That’s why I live through this damn plight Just give me a break you mongrel dog Give me a break from this hard fought slog Before it all gets too much to bear anymore And I just decide to walk out the door Never to return never to phone Just run away from the daily drone Of darkness and angst and all things bad All these things that make me feel sad. If I just had the strength to do it now To finish it all, to end it all somehow But I keep trying to get to the light That’s all that wakes me after the night... |
