The Willow Tree stood proudly on a cliff side in a grove of lodge pole pines It battled for the sun''s radiance After all isn''t that what plants do It stood strong against the winds of spring Never faltering to winter''s snow and cold It never looked to dying in the fall People used to admire it The bugs and age finally came The trunk took on a black hue Leaves shed. Branches broke. The old tree finally had enough Now it rests on the forest''s floor Even mother nature dishes out more than one can take So knows the Willow Tree.... |
