Broken barbed wire lays half buried in the desert sand Still tethered to mummified fence post Lone hawk circles eternal funeral of ancient ones Over continent of Amercian land 2,365 miles long Inundated with crude oil on the Florida coast line Man creates catastrophes since the Garden of Eden We die in our time Sicken by births doing and our own And you call your mind a brain Billions dead from the wood clubs to atomic bombs Church bell still rings Sermon without a word And heaven is dead Just like you Yet all alive in the dust of the cemetery I''ve gone mad without hope Living in my drug stupor Just a blank chalk board Dust on a eraser... |
