Title: The Zone
Author: stormy
Date Submitted: 3/28/2010

Poem: as I struggle to fall asleep,
I find my mind wandering aimlessly.
there''s no peace to be found for me,
no remnants of quiet around,
just the ticking of the clock...
tick tock, tick tock...
the randomness of the train-wreck running through my brain
won''t stop at any station long enough for sleep to come.
it''s madness overwhelms me at times
and I can''t break the chain of pictures and words
that come to me without warning and without meaning.
these are things i have no control over,
but that control my ever waking and sleeping moment.
it''s pure madness I tell you and there''s nothing I can do!
wandering around like a zombie,
popping pills to be sane.
what''s that like anyway?
what is sanity? is that what it is to be normal?
pills run my life and not even the right ones,
they aren''t fun, they don''t make me laugh, or want to party.
but when I''m in this zone, I want to race as fast as I can,
like the wind, only faster and harder and higher then ever before.
I can do anything I want, anything at all, you know why?
because I am invincible, that''s why!
I''m in the zone and no one can touch me. I''ll race you....
