Poem: Engulfed in an ocean of rain
January of storms
El Nino in the Eastern Pacific
Phoenix inundated
Me in a spook-filled room
None come forward to be my muse
Nymphs of the rain
Locking me indoors
Gargoyles spout away the rain
Four thirty a.m. and I wait for morning to break
Jugs of coffee and my cold hangs on
Sleep eludes me
I call on the spirts of the dead
Ameliorate the anguish of my defeat
Lift the hands of the ambidextrous
Vanquish the rogue of fear and anxiety
The manic horse that pulls my buggy...
