Poem: I woke up in strange place.
Yellow Walls. Brown Trim.
Screens on Windows.
Thick wire mesh.
Locked behind a solid wooden door.
Small Window to see another sliding glass door.
Warning Elopement Zone in Red Letters.
No one leaves without staff permission.

Freaking Out.
Racing Thoughts dancing a waltz in my head.
Couldn''t sit down.
V.A. Medical Center.
Psychiatric Ward.
Birds out singing on brown branches.
One Magic Pill. White.
Brought me back to reality.
What a way to wake up!
Mania. Diagnosed.
Home Now.
Wondering if next time,
they''ll take away my birthday....
