Poem: Orphaned sleep
Nascent old man with insomnia
Illness that gave me early a.m. information
Words beaded together like rope around the neck
Loss of monetary gain
Phantoms of life played a chameleon
Changing personas on the stage of life
Elusive in their invasion
Homicidal in the domestic environs
Quilted together like a burial shawl
Mental illness hammered out on an anvil
While our world decomposes
Locked in my internecine self
Revolution in my uneducated defeat
Staggering across the paper ocean
Looking for a hint of hope
Call it the bread and butter
Dead zone in the sea of mind
Penury defeats me
Homeless in the land of sorrow
Houses stand empty in an age of hunger
Ineligible citizenry without a country...
