Such a blase attitude While my world dissolves I''ve always been on the edge Couldn''t fall off, only slip Just a minor player Cleaning up after modern day bourgeoisie Life never changes much at the bottom Only travelling vicariously at the movies All my itineraries are made in Hollywood I''m living on a geographic inland of sand Called the Sonoran Desert I''m native by karma, Midwestern reject Spotted my dream home on television Back in the fifties, while growing up in the midwest Phoenix, where the uppercrust come for the winter Even with the great recession In the bottom of a downturn I eke out my victuals While the world economy falls in shambles This gypsy does his best The insane always hobble along Defying failure with organic menu Always living on this third world inland Servitude is my calling card Just a step away from suicide Emaciated transplant... |
