I had my day With just a pinch of fame Sometimes a snicker behind my back Didn''t know any better Just a young man then From the heartland St Louis Listen to the blues Sleeping drunk in a used car lot On nights I was lucky enough to find an unlocked door Occasionally girls took me home for the night Loved the ladies, in all their naked beauty Couldn''t work, nerves still can''t but an inning or two We were children together Screwed our way into lives of love Young men and women Who grew up to have families It''s just music to my soul I''m in love with all of you There never was enough ... |
