I destroyed a work of art Just written on paper Sentenced for its unreality For my eschewed view My ego got in the way Family, my genetic line I burned out a lie, some heavenly body As if I''d never been Had I been, I would still be here I was working on empty Filled my tank on the illusion that I was real Liked to play with one chamber loaded Prayed on my beatnik rosary Albert Camus on the cross Living in the desert Loved heat and plants that hurt Impaled on a cactus Ecommunicated from the human race Living under the stock market crash Oh! The wailing and gnashing of teeth Borrowed phrase from illusion... |
