I don''t know when I can''t sleep Just holding my own to the two a.m. darkness Swallowing my thoughts Regurgitations of every dammed interrogation From youthful penal colony and lonley hotel dive Went to parochial school just to bastardise Latin Rooted in the saints and altar wine Fell into devotion to Saint Francis of Assisi Another bipolar pillar with the stigmata But women truly took my adoration Latter psychiatric wards to keep the devil at bay Lauds in the most unusual places Sweating blood with horrific headaches in back of neck Old drugs in the sixties worked well for me Just like the sacredness of absinthe Bathe me mother I''m such a dusty fellow The roads been rough Living on the Chisholm trail... |
