Title: And There...
Author: Cassie
Date Submitted: 6/18/2009

Poem: And there you went, I think you grew
I’ve never seen anyone else move like you.
So slow and vague, no energy wasted
Looking back my way
And there you went where I can’t follow.

So here I sit, alluringly thin
As unusual as the scent of my skin.
Insubstantial as I’ve always been
Fighting a fight
I cannot
Win, alone
And still I sit but I can’t see you.

And there they are,
So similar to who we were before
Bright in the gloom. How much do we love you?
Brilliant as stars
To the sun and the moon
And there they are but I can’t reach them.

And who are you? What to do
I’ve forgotten so many people you all seem new.
I’m way past forgiveness but still sorry for
What I’ve done
What I do
And who are you?
I don’t remember...
