Concrete streaks of love''s denial Shadows of a surreal emotional world Something says I’m not alone She’s done it before She took my breath My heart given away Though she wrote it twice She couldn’t say she loved me I’m perplexed she signed the cards To my boyfriend, Love always, She gave me her body but not her heart I can’t understand Giving me herself without love Before my love sunsets To a restful night’s sleep My heart’s pity weep A beautiful gift wrapped box Empty, with no emotion inside Or maybe I just wasn’t the one I’ll never know the whole truth Such is life, such is sex, such is love Deceptive, Ecstatic, Agony isn’t it?... |
